Server: US East Server. Likely going to an active and competitive server, but avoiding streamer servers.
Focus: We are a competitive guild aiming to be one of the top guilds in Ashes of Creation. We have a hardcore guild that is focused on that goal, and a casual guild that is there to support that goal and be supported by the hardcore members. We are a relatively new guild, so it will take some time to get us to that goal.
Guild Size:
We are aiming for 300 or more members as needed to meet our goals. We plan to have strong alliances in place to help us meet our objectives. If we need to grow larger because we can’t make alliances work, we will do so.
Test Pack Requirements: Alpha 2 Access is not Required, but might be in the future.
WHAT IS GENESIS?
Genesis is meant to be a guild that achieves big things without unneccessary rules. A lot of hardcore guilds have a lot of requirements that we will not have. Things such as forcing you to be in voice chat at all times when playing the game, to play a certain amount of hours each week, or to only play a list of three to four builds that are deemed “meta”. We will not have a lot of draconic rules like that. If you have a week or two where you play less, that is fine. A longer-term lack of playtime in the hardcore guild will probably mean we move you to the casual guild temporarily and replace you with a more active player. We will try to build a sensible siege roster with a proper mix of Tanks, Healers, Support, Controllers, Ranged DPS, and Melee DPS, but not be incredibly granular in terms of each individual build players play. The most important thing, always, is to play the class and build you both like and play the best. We want to compete while still having fun and part of having fun is playing builds that suit you as a player.
But, we also want to achieve big things in this game. How can we do both? By making sure we recruit the right people. We will be turning people away that do not fit what we are looking for. Not everyone will get into this guild.
For the hardcore guild, we are looking for players who do put in a lot of time to the game. We want people with competitive PVP/PVE experience in past MMOs first and foremost for core members, but we will accept recruits who do not have those credentials that can prove themselves in the game.
For both the casual and hardcore guilds, personality will be a big factor. We want people who can roll with the punches, do not anger easily, and work well with others.
OFFICERS PLAY A HUGE ROLE
We are also recruiting and will lean heavily on officers in this guild. Leadership responsibilities will be spread out. If you are looking for an Officer role in a promising up-and-coming guild, this is the place for you, especially if you have experience in similar roles in the past.
We are looking for the following leadership roles:
- Recruiting Officer
- Alliance Officer
- Siege Raid Leaders
- Siege Target Callers
- Siege “Special Forces” Leaders(Controller/Ambush Squads, Objective Takers, Scout Teams, etc.)
- PVE Raid Leaders
- Economic Officer
- More Roles as Needed, and Multiple Officers might be needed in some roles.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
As for me, I have extensive MMO experience going all the way back to the late 90’s. I have been playing MMOs since Everquest. I have hit max level in at least 8 different MMOs, been “hardcore” in at least 5 MMOs, and dabbled in countless others in that time frame. My favorite MMOs of all time are Dark Age of Camelot, Warhammer Online, Archeage, World of Warcraft pre-Cataclysm, Rift, Wildstar, and Guild Wars 2(And 1..but that was not really an MMO).
I have been a guild leader or officer in most MMOs that I played seriously. I have the experience, and the ambition to lead this guild to be incredibly successful.
I love open-world PVP and have been greatly anticipating this MMO. I truly believe this MMO can be the one that brings back a true, competitive, open-world PVP experience that has been lacking in modern MMOs.
OUR PVP PHILOSOPHY
While we are a PVP guild, we have a “no first strike” policy. We will not be the first to attack another guild’s members, their caravans, or declare a guild war. There are some exceptions to this, if competing to secure the first Castle and kill the NPCs in the Castle, we will PVP anyone that is attempting the boss. If trying to secure one of the Patron slots in a Node, we will PVP any guilds that might be in the way of us achieving that. But, other than those and similar scenarios, we are a reactive PVP guild. And I have little doubt plenty of PVP will come our way with this doctrine.
ALLIANCE
We also are forming an alliance of other guilds with a similar mindset as ours and that share common goals. The alliance system in Ashes of Creation allows for up to 4 guilds to ally with each other. Our alliance may extend beyond that if needed. We do have an alliance already set up, and some guilds that we plan to work with in A2 to possibly form longer term alliances.
